BIP Teacher Training Plans

1. What does this feature do? (High-Level Overview)

This document covers Teacher Training plans that are currently shown from the Caregiver Training area of the BIP. It helps teams track teacher-focused training goals, follow Short-Term Outcomes (STOs) and Long-Term Outcomes (LTOs), and keep school-related support work organized.

2. Who is this for? (Roles & Permissions)

• Users with BIP edit access (manage_bips): Can create, edit, discontinue, and delete Teacher Training plans and objectives.
• Users with BIP view access (view_bips): Can review Teacher Training plans in read-only mode.

3. Business Rules & Enforcements

• Rule 1: Teacher Training is documented separately because it is a distinct plan type, even though it currently appears from the Caregiver Training area.
• Rule 2: Required setup includes the BIP, plan name, category, and status.
• Rule 3: Teacher Training does not require baseline information, intensity information, timeframe, baseline timeframe, or intensity key at plan creation.
• Rule 4: The system can generate default Teacher Training goals.
• Rule 5: The goal does not appear in session notes until at least one STO has an initial date and is marked In Progress.
• Rule 6: The system can automatically advance from one STO to the next when the active STO meets its SMART target.
• Rule 7: When all STOs are mastered, the LTO can move to In Progress.
• Rule 8: If the plan is discontinued, current progress changes to Discontinued and active objectives are also discontinued.
• Rule 9: Deleting the plan also deletes its objectives.
• Rule 10: Current Progress can be recalculated from weekly progress data.
• Rule 11: In the main plan logic, Teacher Training follows the same core business rules as Caregiver Training.

5. How-To Guide (Step-by-Step)

Scenario A: Open Teacher Training plans

1. Open the patient’s BIP.
2. Select Caregiver Training.
3. Go to the Teacher Training section.
4. Open an existing Teacher Training plan or create a new one.

Scenario B: Create a new Teacher Training plan

1. Open the Teacher Training section.
2. Click to create a new plan.
3. Enter the plan name and confirm the plan category and status.
4. Save the plan.

Scenario C: Add default Teacher Training goals

1. Open the Teacher Training section.
2. Click the button to add default goals.
3. Confirm the action.
4. Review the generated plans and objectives.

Scenario D: Work through the objective sequence

1. Open the plan.
2. Review or add Short-Term Outcomes (STOs) and the Long-Term Outcome (LTO).
3. Update progress over time.
4. Let the system advance the sequence as goals are mastered.

6. What happens if…? (Edge Cases / FAQ)

• Q: Why is Teacher Training documented separately if it appears under Caregiver Training?
  • A: It is a separate plan type with its own goals and should be documented clearly on its own.
• Q: Does Teacher Training require the same heavy setup as Maladaptive or Replacement?
  • A: No. Teacher Training has a lighter setup and only requires the basic plan information.
• Q: Does Teacher Training behave very differently from Caregiver Training?
  • A: No significant difference appears in the main business rules. The main difference is where the default plan definitions come from.
• Q: What happens if all STOs are mastered?
  • A: The LTO can move to In Progress and the plan continues to the next stage.
• Q: What happens if the plan is discontinued?
  • A: The plan progress changes to Discontinued and active objectives are also discontinued.

APPENDIX

Roles to consider

• Superadmin: Has all permissions, including the ability to manage other admins.
• Admin: Full access to all features and settings.
• Owner: Similar to admin, but scoped to their own locations.
• Manager: Access to administrative features but cannot manage other admins.
• RBT/Analyst: Providers who log sessions and view their own data.
